EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Gold Cup doesn't start for another week for the U.S. men's national team, but for the players involved, the audition has already begun.
The team gathered in Nashville, Tenn. earlier this week, got in a few days training and then flew up to Hartford on Thursday ahead of Saturday's pre-tournament friendly against Ghana (5 p.m. ET, ESPN/WatchESPN).
More eyes will certainly be watching when the Americans kick off the tournament against Panama on July 8 and, over the course of the month, a player's whole body of work -- both in training and in games -- will be taken into account.
