Morris fulfills 'childhood dream' of signing with Sounders

The U.S. national team striker was introduced as a member of the Seattle Sounders on Thursday, explaining his decision to sign a homegrown deal.

Jordan Morris was 14 years old when he filed into CenturyLink Field and joined 32,522 other fans in witnessing the Seattle Sounders' MLS debut, a 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls in March 2009.

Having watched the Sounders in the USL, the Seattle native relished the return of top-flight soccer to his hometown — and knew he wanted to be a part of it.

"It was a childhood dream of mine to play for the Sounders," Morris said.
