Lucas Hernandez says he joined Bayern Munich to take himself out of his "comfort zone" in Madrid and take his career to “the next level”.
World Cup-winning France international Hernandez switched to the Bundesliga champions from Atletico Madrid in an €80 million (£68m/$90m) deal ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
He has been the centre of a row between club and country over the past week following France's decision to call him up for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Iceland and Turkey despite missing Bayern's previous two matches with a knee problem.
