Today, U.S. Soccer announced that defender Kelley O’Hara underwent arthroscopic ankle surgery to repair a lingering issue. The surgery took place this morning, and she will miss 8-12 weeks while she recovers.
O’Hara, the defender who plays in the NWSL for Utah Royals FC, started four matches during the recent CONCACAF Women’s Championship for the United States. According to U.S. Soccer, her and the team staff decided that now was the time to get the procedure done so that she could make a full recovery in time for a crucial 2019 calendar.
