Uncapped young players Josh Sargent, Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams are among five uncapped players who have been called into the 21-man United States squad that will face Portugal in a friendly in Leiria on Nov. 14.
The roster has a decidedly youthful bent, featuring seven players with fewer than five international appearances, in addition to five uncapped players -- 17-year-old striker Sargent, Schalke's 19-year-old midfielder McKennie, the New York Red Bulls' 18-year-old Adams, Sheffield United's 19-year-old defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, and FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez, 22.
The roster is the first to be named since the United States suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Trinidad & Tobago back on Oct.
