John Brooks won't need rehab for knee sprain - Hertha Berlin

U.S. centre-back John Brooks has been given the all-clear by Hertha Berlin's team doctor following his knee injury picked up at the 2016 Copa America Centenario.

The 23-year-old missed the United States' third-place match against Colombia due to what had been described as a knee inflammation. His German club Hertha Berlin feared the injury could stop the defender from taking part in their early season start in late July, when they enter the Europa League qualifiers.

He returned to Germany and on Wednesday, team doctor Ulrich Schleicher said he has been cleared to go on a scheduled three-week holiday instead of doing rehabilitation training.
