John Brooks and DeAndre Yedlin have made themselves integral U.S. players

MIAMI -- John Brooks and DeAndre Yedlin were two of the youngest players on the U.S. roster at the 2014 World Cup and, at the time, somewhat surprising picks by coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Both more than justified their inclusion in Brazil, however, with Brooks scoring an unforgettable game-winning goal against Ghana in the Americans' opener and the lightning-quick Yedlin making an impact off the bench in three games; a super sub role he parlayed into a transfer to Premier League club Tottenham after the tournament.

But both players have struggled for consistency in the almost two years since.
