Former United States national team assistant Andreas Herzog is set to be appointed Israel coach, the Israeli FA said on Wednesday.
Vienna-born Herzog began his coaching career in 2005 as Austria's caretaker coach before taking up the assistant's role, and then leading the under-21s.
He was assistant to U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann from 2011-16 and also coached the under-23s as they attempted to qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
"Today, an agreement was reached in principle between the parties and at the forthcoming IFA management committee meeting Herzog's appointment will be put to a vote," an Israeli FA statement said.
