The American midfielder could be in doubt for his country's World Cup qualifier on March 24 after being substituted early on against Schalke
Fabian Johnson was forced off with an injury in the first half of Borussia Monchengladbach's Europa League match against Schalke.
The U.S. international had to depart the second leg of the round-of-16 tie just 16 minutes in with what appeared to be a muscle problem.
That's all from the American sadly. The scorer of our away goal Jonas #Hofmann replaces him. (16') #fohlenelf #UEL #BMGS04 0-0

The timing of Johnson's injury couldn't be worse for his country.
