Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize was tipped to move to one of the Soweto giants or Mamelodi Sundowns in the near future.
City club chairman John Comitis had also linked Mkhize to teams in Turkey, China and Saudi Arabia.
However, Mkhize's placed all the transfer talk to rest, by committing his long term future to the Cape Town club.
In midweek, City released the following statement about holding onto their prized right-back.
"Cape Town City FC are delighted to announce that captain Thamsanqa Mkhize has signed a new three year deal with the club.
