This past weekend at the 2019 U.S. Soccer Annual General Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona, former United States Women’s National Team midfielder Cindy Parlow Cone was elected U.S. Soccer vice president.
Per US Soccer, Cone “was the sole candidate to complete the nomination process in order to run for the office of the Vice President.” She will serve as VP for one year, completing the term that was vacated by Carlos Cordeiro when he was elected as president in 2018. There will be an election for a full, four-year VP term in 2020.
According to USSF, members of the National Council vote in the election.
