Even still, the Cafeteros sit second in the group behind Brazil and could guarantee a spot in the next round with an unlikely win against the Selecao; which would be their first since 2015.
Peru’s failure to beat Ecuador earlier today leaves the door open for Brazil to qualify for the next stage as group winners with a victory against Colombia. The Selecao come into this fixture on the back of nine straight wins, dating back to a 1-0 loss against Argentina in a friendly in November 2019.
