The MLS Super Draft kicked off with a few notable young Americans being drafted into the top domestic league. FC Cincinnati made headlines by stockpiling ten picks in the weeks leading up to the draft. It seemed to be an odd strategy for roster building as the draft has yielded fewer and fewer impact players in MLS. Despite building what looks like a USL roster but with more money, FCC forged ahead in the search for this year’s Julian Gressel or Mo Adams.
The expansion side picked Frankie Amaya with the first overall selection.
