A-League grand final on election collision course

Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison has officially called a May 18 election - a date that could collide with the A-League grand final.

Should Sydney FC make it to the decider, the A-League's final match of the season will be held on Saturday, May 18 to accommodate the Sky Blues, who have an Asian Champions League match against Kawasaki on May 21.

If Sydney isn't involved, however, the grand final will instead take place on Sunday, May 19 ensuring A-League fans aren't making a trip to the polls on the same day.
