According to Mike McGrath of The Sun, Liverpool is considering making a £20 million (approximately $26 million at the time of writing) bid for United States Men’s National Team and Schalke 04 central midfielder Weston McKennie.
McGrath’s report suggests that the move could come during this transfer window or the summer. McKennie has been solid, if unspectacular, making 19 appearances with 2 goals and 2 assists this season. However, Schalke has been underperforming and sits 13th in the Bundesliga table.
McKennie would bolster an already strong Liverpool side that features defensive, attacking, and box-to-box central midfielders such as Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Adam Lallana (who’s rumored to be leaving soon).
