Bobby Wood broke a two-month long goal scoring drought on Saturday with his third goal of the Bundesliga season for a very poor Hamburg.
While the team got beat by Mainz, 3-1, on the day, the USMNT striker scored the match’s opening goal with a very nice right-footed strike from the top of the box:
Wood started the scoring play with some lovely hold-up play in the midfield and a smart chipped ball on a teammate. His ensuing run eventually paid off as he collected a pass near the top of the box. Wasting no time, he unleashed a ferocious shot to the near post that beat the goalkeeper and gave his side the lead temporarily.
