Mallory Pugh pounced a rebound from a saved penalty in the first half as the U.S. women's national team rolled to a comfortable 3-0 win over Chile on Tuesday night in San Jose, California.
After a 3-0 win over the same opponent on Friday night, the U.S. found itself in a tough contest early on before Pugh's opener.
Chile goalkeeper Christiane Endler even managed to keep out Tobin Heath's penalty, pushing the ball wide but not out of play. A scramble in front of goal followed, with Pugh tapping home to put the U.S. out in front 34 minutes in.
