USWNT players in NWSL: Week 8

Whitney Engen: She took her place in a five-back formation and successfully strangled a lot of Washington's central attack.

Ali Krieger: She had to contend with a re-energized Stephanie McCaffrey and sometimes got caught higher in transition, but also dealt with increased Boston attack down her side.

Crystal Dunn: Even though she was plenty busy she couldn't quite break through Boston's shored-up defense, and her chances on goal were limited. She did make the cross that created the Spirit's goal though.

WNY Flash 1 - 0 Orlando Pride

Ashlyn Harris: Had a couple of great saves, including a great kick save late in the game, to keep the scoreline low, but seemed to slip a little on Makenzy Doniak's well-placed shot past her to the far post.
