The U.S. women's national team extended its unbeaten run to 27 games with a 1-0 friendly win over Portugal on Thursday.
Jill Ellis' side also clinched the 500th win in USWNT history with the victory at Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota in Lisbon, Portugal.
The U.S. was out-shot in a sloppy first half, but on her first start for the national team and just her second cap, 30-year-old Jessica McDonald found the breakthrough just before halftime.
McDonald, who had earlier missed a point-blank chance, saw her initial effort saved after a great low cross from Crystal Dunn, but the striker managed to block the ensuing clearance into the back of the net.
