U.S. Soccer announced the appointment of Luis “Luchi” Gonzalez as an assistant coach to the Men’s National Team, replacing Nico Estevez. The 41-year-old recently served as the manager of FC Dallas in Major League Soccer after a long spell as the club’s academy director, departing the former position in September. He will join the program at the upcoming training camp in Carson, California and be on the touch-line for the friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I knew right away when this conversation started that this is what I want to do, and I’m very proud to have the opportunity,” Gonzalez said in the official press release.
