The United States Men’s National Team entered their 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Jamaica on June 7, 2013 needing a win to get back towards the top of the Hexagonal standings. However, playing Jamaica in National Stadium in Kingston, more affectionately known as ““The Office,” was never an easy feat. The USMNT lost there in 2012, and it traditionally is a difficult place to play. Still, the USMNT needed the win, and it would be an unlikely player who would serve as the hero.
Jozy Altidore got things started in the 30th minute, heading home a Graham Zusi cross to give the Americans the lead.
