SuperSport United chief executive officer Stan Matthews has paid tribute to striker Thamsanqa Gabuza for playing in the MTN8 Cup final against Highlands Park while mourning his late son earlier this month.
The 32-year-old lost his son a few days before SuperSport edged Highlands Park 1-0 to lift the MTN8 Cup as he staged a man-of-the-match performance.
Gabuza is now available to be selected for Saturday’s Telkom Knockout Cup against defending champions Baroka FC at Lucas Moripe Stadium after being granted a few days off to mourn his son.
