Ulinzi Stars and Nzoia Sugar battled to a 1-1 draw in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League game at Mumias Complex on Sunday.
John Njuguna opened the scoring in favour of the four-time champions before James Kibande equalized for the Sugar Millers.
The visitors needed less than 30 seconds to find the back of the net. Daniel Waweru was given space in the wing and he brought in a good cross and Njuguna rose highest to nod the ball past Humphrey Katasi in the opponent's goal.
In the soggy Mumias Stadium, thanks to the heavy downpour, the Sugar Millers pushed for an equalizer and they were almost rewarded in the eighth minute when Moses Mwale beat his marker but his effort was gathered well by James Saruni.
