Noel Wilson - Reducing foreigners in ISL will improve the standard of Indian players

Jamshedpur FC reserves team coach Noel Wilson backed the idea of implementing the ‘3+1’ foreigners rule in both the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League.

The former Mohun Bagan player, who joined the ISL club in January 2020, opined that Indian football must comply with the AFC regulation regarding the foreigner’s rule.

He also mentioned that reducing the number of foreign players in India’s top tier leagues would benefit the local players and improve their standards in the long run.
