Having un-retired to play for the LA Galaxy in 2016 and then once again un-retiring to play for Leon last year Landon Donovan is once again un-retiring. This time the co-all-time US Men’s National Team goal scoring leader is joining the San Diego Sockers of the Major Arena Soccer League as reported by Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated on Wednesday.
For those unfamiliar, the 17-team league has been active for 10 seasons and features clubs in Canada, the US, and Mexico. Already 11 games into the season, the Sockers will have the 36 year-old Donovan at their disposal for the rest of the year per Wahl’s article.
