U.S. Soccer announced yesterday that one U-23 men’s national team invitee “tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival to training camp.” The unnamed player has been isolated and is currently in quarantine, but has not been released from the roster. According to an official press release, “no other members of the delegation have tested positive” and contact tracing is being conducted.
Because of the positive test, United States U-23 head coach Jason Kreis added fullback Kyle Duncan to the U-23 roster. Goalkeeper Matt Freese and defender Donovan Pines were also recently named to the squad.
