The Italian Supercup comes to a close with Lazio hoisting the trophy aloft, after beating Juventus 3-1 in the final. Lazio took the lead after 16 minutes through Luis Alberto, but Dybala’s 45th-minute equaliser left things all square at half-time. Juventus continued to pour forward in the second half but remained unbalanced and tentative due to Inzaghi’s organisation and his side's relentless tracking. Lulic gave the Coppa Italia winners the lead with 17 minutes remaining after a side-footed effort at the far post - forcing Juventus to throw everyone forward in search of a late equaliser. Introducing the likes of Ramsey and Cuadrado, as well as dominance in possession, didn’t help Sarri’s cause though, as Juve were unable to bring the match level a second time and force extra time.
