Jozy Altidore’s MLS season is done. Toronto FC announced today that the American forward, who will turn 29 in a few weeks, will have surgery to clear a bone fragment from his right ankle. Altidore will miss Toronto’s season finale this weekend against Atlanta United, but it was not known how long it will be before he will be able to return to training.
Jozy Altidore had a good year for Toronto, scoring 13 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions. He had suffered a few injuries along the way, keeping him out for long stretches over the late spring along with this recent injury that he attempted to play through as Toronto was attempting a run at the MLS Cup Playoffs.
