Jay Berhalter to leave the US Soccer Federation

Changes are afoot at Soccer House in Chicago. Following the announced departure of Dan Flynn, the federation has been searching for a new CEO. At first it seemed like Jay Berhalter, brother of USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter, would be a leading candidate for the role.

However, Sports Illustrated reported that Berhalter would not be considered for the position due to negative internal survey results from USSF employees. Now comes the news that Berhalter will be leaving the federation all together leaving two critical leadership positions left to be filled.

SI reports that the chief commercial officer will remain in his position until the end of the month and is not being removed from his role, but is leaving under his own terms.
