Defender Jaelene Hinkle has been recalled to the U.S. women's national team, one year after declining a call-up because she did not want to wear the team's LGBTQ Pride Month jerseys.
In May, the 25-year-old confirmed she turned down a call-up last summer due to her religious views on LGBTQ issues.
Hinkle said in May that she was unsure if she'd ever get another USWNT call, but manager Jill Ellis has given the North Carolina Courage defender a fresh opportunity with the national team.
Hinkle is one of 25 players called up for the 2018 Tournament of Nations, with the roster set to be cut down to 23 before the tournament starts against Japan on July 26.
