Ellis calls in several newcomers to USWNT roster for Portugal and Scotland friendlies

U.S. women's national team head coach Jill Ellis has named several new faces to the team's roster for its upcoming friendlies at Portugal and Scotland.

Of the 24 players Ellis called in, 18 were part of the team that qualified for the World Cup and won the Concacaf Women's Championship earlier this month.

That means there is room for six new faces: Adrianna Franch, Merritt Mathias, Danielle Colaprico, Allie Long, Andi Sullivan, and Emily Fox.

Midfielder Colaprico is receiving her first call-up since 2016, while University of North Carolina defender Fox is the only player on the roster to get her first senior call-up.
