Harvey Elliott was praised for being a "constant threat" during Liverpool's 5-0 loss to Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Elliott, 16, continued to impress as Liverpool's youngest ever team were well beaten at Villa Park.
The teenage winger has made three senior appearances for the Premier League giants and Neil Critchley, the U23 coach who took charge due to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool's senior stars being in Qatar for the Club World Cup, said Elliott was nearing a breakthrough for the European champions.

"He's not too far away because he trains with our first team on a regular basis," Critchley told a news conference.
