The United States men’s national team were thoroughly embarrased by Costa Rica in San Jose on the second match day of the CONCACAF Hexagonal on Tuesday night. The Ticos won 4-0 thanks to goals from Johan Venegas, Christian Bolanos, and two from Joel Campbell.
It was a truly pathetic performance by all involved from an American perspective. After going down two goals, the USMNT could be seen basically quitting on the field. The hustle was gone, the effort invisible and Costa Rica made them pay with a lopsided victory to end 2016.
