Chelsea are in advanced talks with Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz having agreed to pay the full €100 million (£87m/$118m) requested, but with €20m (£18m/$24m) in installments.
The 21-year-old Germany international is set to become Chelsea's record transfer as he will surpass the £72m (£80m/$95m) fee paid to Athletic Club in 2018 for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Havertz has long had an agreement in place with the Bundesliga club that he can move away for the €100m asking price, as he targets the next step in his career.
