Bobby Wood set for transfer to Hamburg

Bobby Wood missed training ahead of Union Berlin's home finale on Sunday. With Union's permission, Wood traveled to the city of Hamburg for a medical and to finalize the long rumored transfer to HSV. Wood has a €4 million buyout clause, according to Kicker.

Wood has 17 goals in the 2.Bundesliga this season, good for third in the league. Since joining Union last summer, Wood has been absolutely determined to put his past mediocre play with 1860 Munich and Erzgebirge Aue behind him and find his place in German football.

There was some belief that Wood wouldn't make a move until after the chance to shine at Copa America this summer in the United States, but the opportunity to make a move to Hamburg looks too enticing to pass up for the Hawaiian-born striker.
