Bringing Frank Lampard and Jody Morris back to Chelsea was the "perfect decision" to boost the club's youth development, according to Gustavo Poyet.
The return of Chelsea's former midfielders as manager and assistant, coupled with the club's transfer ban at the start of the 2019-20 season, changed the prospects of youngsters at the academy.
Chelsea had loaned out many youngsters and splashed the cash on high-profile signings, but Poyet, who won the FA Cup during four years at Stamford Bridge, sees a different picture now.

"You can get one player every year getting through into the first team [from the academy] but there was always someone coming from somewhere else," Poyet told Stats Perform.
