The U.S. national team star is rounding into form with FC Kansas City while embracing life as a new mother
BOYDS, Md. — As Sydney Leroux stood before a swath of autograph-seeking fans at the Maryland SoccerPlex, three points in tow and her son cradled in her arms, the 27-year-old enjoyed a moment of harmony.
"That was a dream come true, to have a baby and be able to come back and play," Leroux told Goal. "It's amazing that women can do what we do."
Leroux had just gone the full 90 minutes in FC Kansas City's 1-0 win over the Washington Spirit, marking her sixth match back since she and her husband, Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer, welcomed Cassius Cruz Dwyer to the world in September.
