Workweek wraps up warm, weekend starts out windy, cold

Strong winds Friday night will usher in cold weather, the National Weather Service says. Expect the temperature to plummet about 30 degrees and a chilly weekend.

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects,” the alert says. “Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”

In the Hartford area, Friday’s high temperature is expected to reach the low 60s. The low Friday night will only be in the upper 20s, the weather service says.

Saturday’s high temperature will likely only reach the mid-40s in the Hartford area, and the low will be around 30 degrees.
