Senior Breanna Stewart eclipsed the 2,000-point mark for her career as the Huskies comfortably took care of Kansas State in their home opener.
It was business as usual for the No. 1 UConn women's basketball team tonight at the XL Center in Hartford. The Huskies (2-0, 0-0) took care of the Kansas State Wildcats, 97-57, in front of 8,369 fans on Monday night.
There was a bit of rust during the first two quarters, with the Huskies last game coming a week ago. Kansas State (3-1, 0-0) stayed somewhat close for most of the first quarter, getting as close as three with 3:24 left.
