The stabbing, which police said was a case of intimate partner violence, happened about 1:45 a.m. on Main Street in the city’s North End. The woman who was stabbed was taken to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center to be treated for wounds to her elbow and lower back, police said. She is expected to survive.
The woman who police believe is responsible for the stabbing was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct, they said. Her injuries were less serious.
The stabbed woman was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct.
