A 37-year-old woman remains in police custody after she fatally shot a man Friday night in Bloomfield, police said.
Marvyann Duncan is under police guard at Saint Francis Hospital, where she was taken for a psychiatric evaluation after having an “uncontrollable emotional” response to the shooting, Capt. Stephen Hajdasz said. Police have obtained a warrant for her arrest on a charge of murder, although she had not been booked on the charge as of Monday morning.
The shooting, which police said was an act of domestic violence, happened about 10:40 p.m. Friday at 22 Filley St. Duncan had been involved in a relationship with the man, Hajdasz said.
