A Massachusetts 21-year-old died Thursday when she was thrown from her car during a crash in Tolland, state police said.
The crash happened about 5:45 p.m. on I-84, east of Exit 68. Wetnicka was driving a 2007 Toyota Scion east in a right lane, and Cervantes was headed east in the center lane, police said.
When Wetnicka tried to change lanes, her Toyota struck Cervantes’ Subaru, and she lost control of her car. The car rolled over, and she was ejected, state police said.
The east lanes of the highway were closed for about four hours while crash investigators gathered evidence and took measurements.
