With food insecurity an ongoing issue in Connecticut, Foodshare will continue its drive-thru site at Rentschler Field through November

Foodshare will continue its massive food distribution efforts at Rentschler Field in East Hartford as food insecurity remains high in the region, but the organization plans to cut back to two days a week starting in November.

The nonprofit has served more than 200,000 households and provided more than 5 million meals at the East Hartford location since it launched in the spring. Starting in November, the distribution at the stadium will be held at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It will be closed on Thanksgiving.

“Heading into the winter months we will continue our operation at Rentschler Field two days per week," Jason Jackubowski, president and CEO of Foodshare, wrote in a Facebook post.
