Hartford’s Winterfest was canceled Monday as organizers weighed growing concerns over the latest rise in COVID-19 cases in the city and across the state.
The organizers, the iQuilt Partnership, said they plan to focus on the following winter season with the hopes of bringing an expanded program to the city.
“Unfortunately, we will not be able to bring this amazing family activity back to the capital city given the rising number of COVID cases,” said iQuilt Partnership Executive Director Jackie Mandyck in a statement. “Winterfest Hartford is a wonderful Hartford tradition, and it will be back next year, bigger and better.
