Winter storm headed to Connecticut could dump six or more inches of snow, with Monday bearing the brunt

A winter storm headed to Connecticut could dump six or more inches of snow in the Hartford area early next week, the heaviest snowfall coming Monday afternoon and evening making for tough travel conditions, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service.

Frank Nocera, senior forecaster at the weather service in Norton, Mass., said snow is expected to begin falling Monday morning but there won’t be a major impact on the morning commute.

“The heaviest snow looks to be in the afternoon and evening and maybe even overnight,” Nocera said. “So the late day commute will definitely be impacted and it could be really tough traveling.
