A 19-year-old who police said obstructed their efforts to find and arrest a suspect in the deadly shooting of a Windsor Locks teenager in June has been extradited from South Carolina.
Sydney Witchard was brought to Connecticut from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday and charged with second-degree hindering prosecution, they said. She remained in custody early Wednesday on $45,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Hartford.
Witchard’s behavior before and after the June 24th deadly shooting “suggests that she intentionally obstructed police efforts to locate and capture [Daniel Phillip] Baez,” the suspected shooter, police said.
