Winds will whip the Hartford area Friday, and the city’s neighbors to the north might see some snow as April turns to May.
A wind advisory is in effect from noon Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service says. Winds of 15-30 mph are expected, with gusts of up to 50 mph.
As the temperatures dip overnight, “extreme northwestern Connecticut” might see less than an inch of snow overnight, said Torry Gaucher, a NWS meteorologist.
“It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that we wouldn’t see some flurries in Hartford County,” Gaucher said, although that likely would be only at higher elevations near the Berkshires.
