A convicted sex offender from Willimantic who police said repeatedly -- and sometimes violently -- sexually assaulted a child was arrested Monday.
Justo Roberto, 56, at times used force on the victim, including choking the child, police and court records show. His charges include two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 13 and first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13 and over 2.
The charges also include third-degree strangulation, tampering with a witness and four counts of threatening, police said. In all, Roberto was arrested on 18 counts.
The assaults happened in 2014, police said; the arrest was two years after his previous arrest on similar charges involving a different victim.
