Wednesday is expected to be the fifth, but last, day of a heat wave. A heat advisory will be in effect in Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties from noon to 8 p.m., and some schools are dismissing students early or teaching remotely.
The high temperature will be in the low 90s in the Hartford area, but because of the humidity, it will feel like it’s in the mid-to-upper 90s, said Andrew Loconto, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. It might be cooler in the northwestern part of Hartford County.
“We call that the ‘apparent temperature,’ that’s what it feels like to the normal human being,” he said.
