A strong thunderstorm has arrived in northwestern Connecticut and is heading toward the Hartford area, meteorologists say.
“Heads up Greater Hartford. This storm could bring down a few branches and cause minor street flooding,” the National Weather Service tweeted about 1:30 p.m.

Pea-sized hail and winds stronger than 30 mph could accompany the storm, in addition to torrential rain and lightning.
Locations to be impacted include Windsor, Bloomfield, Suffield, Granby, East Granby, Ellington, Windsor Locks, East Windsor, Simsbury and Canton.
